This set of two stainless steel cutters is a great tool for bakers specializing in flower modeling from fondant, gumpaste or modeling clay. The delicate shapes will give your cakes a luxurious look.
Set includes 2 cutters - for petal and bud
Dimensions:
Petal: approx. 20 mm
Bud: approx. 12 mm
Made of high-quality stainless steel - durable and easy to clean
Suitable for working with sugar paste, modeling clay, marzipan, or cold porcelain
Easy to use - for detailed flower decoration without complex shaping
Can be combined with modeling tools and molds for a perfect effect
Roll out a thin layer of modeling clay and cut out the shape of the orchid petal and bud using the cutters. For a more realistic look, we recommend using modeling tools and silicone veining molds. Ideal for wedding cakes, celebrations, and luxurious desserts.
Cutting shapes:
Use individual cutters for the respective parts of the flower
Gently press the shape and carefully remove it from the base.
Modeling and shaping:
Use modeling tools (round or tear-shaped) to thin and shape the edges of the petals. Working on foam pad helps to naturally curl the edges.
Shape the petals into a curved shape using shaping dishes or a spoon.
Insert a thin floral wire (food-grade) into the center of each petal for later flower assembly.
Drying:
Allow individual parts to dry for at least 12 hours (preferably overnight) on shaping dishes, aluminum foil, or in flower formers to maintain their shape.
Flower assembly:
Once the petals are dry, join them together using florist tape or a bit of edible glue.
You can embellish the flower with pistils or purchased or handmade stamens.
Coloring:
To highlight details, use food-grade powder colors applied with a dry brush.
You can combine different shades to achieve a natural look of petals.
Powder colors can also be lightly moistened with alcohol to create a gentle "watercolor" effect.
Usage on a cake:
Insert the finished orchid into the cake using a flower holder or by inserting wires into a straw.
Orchids are suitable for decorating wedding and festive cakes, cupcakes, or luxury desserts.
Tips and recommendations:
For greater realism, you can lightly press texture into the petals using a silicone veining mold.
Work with clean tools in a dry environment – the material will hold its shape better.
If the flower is not intended for consumption (for example, due to the use of a florist wire), always inform the customer.
After use, wash in lukewarm water with soap and dry thoroughly. Not intended for dishwasher use.
