Instructions:

Roll out fondant, gum paste... on a surface. Press the cookie cutter into the rolled out icing and cut out a small butterfly with veins.

Place the finished butterfly on a veining tool with veins facing downwards. It can be a box or anything else with an edge so that the butterfly's wings can spread according to your preference.

Dust the butterfly with pearlescent powder or paint it in various colors and attach it to the cake. You can attach it with glue or water.

Another option is to put the butterfly on a wire. Strengthen the icing at the body so that the wire can be inserted. The next steps are the same.
